Tech Made Easy is a UK based technology website designed to provide news and information to users regarding computers and consumer electronics.  We do not collect or store personal information from users with the following exceptions:

Advertising

Tech Made Easy features advertisements from 3rd party companies, operating through selected ad networks.  None of the adverts seen on Tech Made Easy are hosted on our servers, nor explicitly selected by us.

Some of the 3rd  party advertising partners generate their own cookies to track how many people have seen a particular advertisement (or use services of third parties to do this), and to track how many people have seen it more than once. Cookies are pieces of data that are sent from a third party website to your browser, which may then store them on your computer system. No personal information or details of any kind are stored or gathered by cookies.

A cookie stores a unique ID that identifies your browser session. This ID is in no way associated with your machine or you individually. Most browsers automatically accept cookies. You can set your browser option so that you will not receive cookies and you can also delete existing cookies from your browser. Please note that you can delete a cookie at any time, or set your browser not to accept cookies, if you prefer.

These cookies cannot be used to identify an individual; they can only be used for statistical purposes so advertising show on specific publishers is more relevant to the users’ interests.

Social Networking

Tech Made Easy has official fan pages on two social networking sites: Twitter and Facebook.  These sites are maintained by Tech Made Easy and are monitored closely to ensure that content added by third parties to these pages is suitable and relevant.

Both of these social networks may feature 3rd party advertising on their sites which is outside of the control of Tech Made Easy.  They may also utilise tracking cookies in the same way as described above in the advertising section.

Competitions

Tech Made Easy offer products and services for free, on ocassion, via the web site.  These competitions will be operated either by Tech Made Easy only or with the co-operation of a third party supplier or manufacturer.  Terms and conditions of these competitions vary but may include the provision of names and Email addresses by entrants.  These terms are clearly defined in the terms and conditions of the competition which is shown on the entry form page for the competition.

Depending on the nature of the competition, winning entrants may also need to provide an address and telephone number in order for the prize to be delivered.
